From Curiosity to Cultivation
Hi, I’m Olivia!
Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. This space grew out of a simple curiosity I had about plants, food, and the everyday choices that shape how we live, learn, and care for ourselves and those around us.
Life is full of small wonders—like the plants growing just outside my window. My curiosity began there: A desire to know their names, their uses, and how people long ago relied on them for natural healing. Discovering that much of this knowledge has been lost inspired me to learn about these plants and how I could use them every day.
Naturally, cooking followed. Inspired by my grandma’s Mennonite-German roots, I learned that food is more than sustenance—it’s a way to care for those you love, bring people together, be creative, and create a sense of joy. I was fascinated by terms such as, “all natural” or “whole ingredients without preservatives or artificial additives,” and I saw cooking from scratch as a way to reclaim a sense of ownership and intention in the kitchen.
Over time, I took college-level horticulture and herbalism courses, learning, not only how to care for plants, but how to understand their healing properties and practical applications.
This blog is where my passions converge: plants, food, and intentional living. Here, I share what I’ve learned, experiment with new ideas, and encourage others to explore a life rooted in curiosity, creativity, and care—making every day a little more wholesome, joyful, and intentional.
